Tim Madge – guest lecturer

Tim Madge has lectured over the years on a number of subjects, including:

  • Mass media, worldwide, including new media
  • Communications, theory and practice
  • Modern European History (from 1815 to the present)
  • European Wars of the 20th century (with special emphasis on the European Theatres of the two world wars)
  • The History of the English Language
  • Celtic History (European wide)
  • English for journalists and writers
  • Journalism (as a practical subject)

As well, he is able to offer guided lectures (and short tours) to various parts of the UK, involving walking and, sometimes, scrambling (eg., The Lake Poets and their relationship to the Lake District; or, with Celtic History and the Iron Age, the development of Celtic culture in the UK).

His most recent lecture was at the Royal College of Physicians on drugs and drugs policy, based on his latest book, White Mischief. (See the author page on this site).
